Fine Art B&W and Platinum/Palladium Prints
Photography is a passion for me and one I enjoy sharing with others.
I am a film based fine art photographer using Black & White film for most of my work, though I'm rediscovering the beauty of muted and subtle color. I love the moods that can be created, and the long tonal range that can be achieved, with B&W film but there is value in the warmth and soft glow that color can bring to an image also.
Most of my photographs are made using an 8x10 and a 4x5 Canham view camera but I also use a Hasselblad 500 CM. Using the larger format film allows me to make 8x10 and 4x5 platinum/palladium contact prints from the B&W negatives. All of my silver gelatin and Pt/Pl prints are handmade, by myself, in my traditional wet darkroom.
Though I am mostly self-taught, I have benefitted greatly under the tutelage of Per Volquartz and Kerik Kouklis. I am grateful for their teachings and, more importantly, their friendships.
I am a native Southern Californian and live in San Diego County with my husband and our two Labs. We have two grown children, Lexi & Grant.
